St. Augustine, FloridaCharming, Mysterious an Exciting CitySt. Augustine, Florida rests on the Atlantic coast and was actually the first coastal city to be established in what is now the United States. In fact, it was the first settlement started by Europeans in the newly "discovered" land, a few decades before the English established a colony in Jamestown. Today, the elements of natural Florida wildlife, history, Spanish décor and architecture make St. Augustine a very attractive and unique place to visit. ![]() There is a lot going on in this old and enchanting town all year-round. With lots of places to stay, including charming Bed and Breakfasts, and a variety of great restaurants you can easily customize your vacation and forget about the world you left behind for the time you are here. My family lives close enough to be able to visit St Augustine regularly and enjoy all the attractions this city has to offer.
Most of the attractions in St. Augustine can be seen either by walking around or by taking advantage of one of the many sightseeing tour services. When you walk around this old city, you will find that many historical buildings and monuments still stand in all of their glory.
The Bridge of Lions will lead you to State Road A1A which will take you along St. Augustine's barrier island. Throughout history, the nation’s oldest city has experienced its share of opposition. Tropical weather such as hurricanes, widespread famine, various wars, and other complications have occurred throughout the history of St. Augustine, however, the heart and spirit of this beautiful and widely popular tourist attraction has held strong, and it shows! When visiting St. Augustine, you can learn a lot about the history, people, and wildlife of this area. |
