Biscayne National Park

Biscayne National Park, nestled just a few miles away from Miami, provides the perfect experience for any water lover.  The park includes the southernmost coral reef in the U.S.

The majority of the park area belongs to Biscayne Bay, located south of Miami, between the mainland and about a dozen islands called keys.  This is the beginning of a chain of islands that everybody knows as the Florida Keys.  The Park protects its islands from development, giving everybody a chance to see and enjoy them in their original beauty.

You may take a tour in a glass-bottom boat and enjoy the coral reefs, fishes and other underwater creatures without having to get wet.  If you'd like your experience to be of a more personal nature, snorkeling and scuba diving would probably be the activity for you.  

Other recreational activities within park premises include boating, fishing and camping.  However camping is available on the keys, not on the mainland, and is accessible only by boat.  

The water area of the park is open 24 hours a day, all year long.  Adams Key, which is only reachable by boat, is only open during the day.  No entrance fee is charged, but camping, overnight boat storage, and other fees apply.
